Traffic Calming Committee 2021 Updates

UPDATE -- AUGUST 13, 2021:

The ballots submitted for traffic calming measures on Heritage Landing Road and for Burnside Landing Drive have been tallied.  Unfortunately, the measures did not pass because there were not enough ballots returned.  To pass, more than 50% of the occupied homes in the ballot area must return a ballot in support of the traffic calming plan for the plan to be implemented.


The ballot area for Burnside Landing encompassed 222 homes; this measure needed 112 ballots returned with a “yes” vote.  Unfortunately, only 89 ballots were returned with a “yes” vote.  There were 42 “no” votes There were 91 ballots not returned.


The ballot area for Heritage Landing encompassed 90 homes; this measure needed 46 ballots returned with a “yes” vote.  Unfortunately, only 34 ballots were returned with a “yes” vote.  There were 19 “no” votes.  There were 37 ballots not returned. 

Burnside Landing Drive:

Ballot area: 222 homes

#of YES ballots required to be returned for passing: 112 YES votes

# of ballots received in Braddock District Office by 5:00 pm on 8/5/21: 131

#of no ballots: 42

#of yes ballots: 89

Out of 222 homes, 40% were in favor of the traffic calming measure

FAILED – 91 ballots not returned


Heritage Landing Road:

Ballot area: 90 homes

#of YES ballots required to be returned for passing: 46 YES votes

# of ballots received in Braddock District Office by 5:00pm on 8/5/21: 53

#of no ballots: 19

#of yes ballots: 34

Out of 90 homes, 38% were in favor of the traffic calming measure

FAILED – 37 ballots not returned
